Captain – Nathan Waring
Hi, I’m Nathan and I am your Captain this year. I shoot barebow!! I will hopefully be going into my 3rd year of Oceanography, yay? I started shooting in my 1st year of University :D. I will try to be at the range as much as possible next year and I am always happy to have a chat.
Vice Captain – Tom Allen
Hello, I’m Tom, the website officer vice captain and a second third year computer-science student here at Southampton. I’m a right-handed man shooting left-handed recurve, identified by my orange bow bag, quiver, and basically anything else I could find. I’ve been shooting since October 2024 and plan to be here for the next few years at least. I shoot (poorly slightly better) as much as I can, but otherwise can be found in B60 one of the computer labs “working” or at a pub.
Secretary – Wynnie Chong
Hi all, I’m Wynnie. I shoot mostly recurve, and I’m your secretary for the academic year. I’m in the 2nd year of my PhD in Optoelectronics, but I’m also a chemist at heart. If you see me at the range typing on my laptop, I’m either replying to all your archery enquiries or working overtime on my project, who knows. But I’m always down for a chat, or a coffee :)
Treasurer – Ivo Meldrum
Hi I’m Ivo and I’m your Treasurer for this year! I’m a 3rd year Comp Sci student, and I shoot barebow. I’ll be making sure that your money goes straight back to improving your SUAC experience! You’ll see me at the range hopefully pretty frequently – probably fixing my latest equipment failure despite barebow having minimal equipment. Always happy to have a chat about archery, nerd things, or anything else :)
Equipment Officers
Equipment 1. – Harvey Bishop
Hi, I’m Harvey. I am a 3rd year Marine Biology student. I have been shooting for 2 years now since starting in my first year of university. I am responsible for making sure all club equipment is in order and helping any members with equipment related problems. I hope you have a great time at our club and feel free to ask me any questions, I am more than happy to help.
Equipment 2. – Jasmine Kwong
Hi I’m Jasmine, I’m equipment 2 this year, I shoot recurve and I’m a 2nd year Marine Biology student. I’m mostly just equipment 1’s assistant this year, but if you need anything feel free to ask, I’m usually at the range. I’m in the pits of gacha hell (lol), and I like fluffy cats and anything to do with whales or dolphins :)
Competitons Officer – Maia Dalpra
Hello, I’m Maia and I shoot barebow. By the time you’re seeing this, I’ll hopefully be a year 3 Medical student; regardless, I will be your Competitions Officer this year. I’ve been shooting on-and-off for 10 years now. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have (especially if they’re about competitions or shooting barebow).
Socials Officer – Freddie Woodgate
Hey! My name is Freddie and I am a 2nd year History student! As your Socials Officer I will mainly be very stressed and secondly, I will be organising and promoting social events for every member of SUAC at the range and around Southampton (please come to them…) I shoot left-handed recurve despite being right-handed and I’ve only been shooting since the start of my first year at Southampton! I am always available to chat if you have any questions or even if you have feedback or suggestions for a potential social. See you in the range or pub!
Records Officer – Aine Kavanagh
Hiya everyone, I’m Aine, your records and welfare officer and a barebow archer. I’m a 4th year Archaeology and Anthropology student. I’ll mostly just be keeping a record of scores with the aim to hand out as many shiny badges at the end of the year to everyone. I’m usually found at the range especially when I should be writing essays or I’m going crazy looking at old rocks, soil and pottery. I’m always available to chat and reach out to :)
Website Officer – Nick Sexton
Hi I’m Nick, the website officer (If you are reading this I have done my job) and I’m a 2nd year Aerospace Engineering student. I try to shoot 3 times a week and you won’t ever see me without a hat on. I am always up for a chat or a pint and other than archery I love video games (Rock and Stone!), Warhammer and Drinking.
